Advertising Policy

This Advertising Policy (“Policy”) sets out the standards and requirements that all advertisers (“Advertisers”) must comply with when submitting advertising content (“Ads”) for display through Discount Billboard LLC (“Discount Billboard”) and its network of media owners (“Media Owners”).

By submitting advertising content, you agree to be bound by this Policy in addition to our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

1. Scope & Application

This Policy applies to all Ads submitted for display through Discount Billboard.

Discount Billboard and Media Owners reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to approve, reject, remove, or request modifications to any Ad at any time, without liability.

No refunds, credits, or compensation will be provided for Ads rejected, removed, or modified in accordance with this Policy, the Terms & Conditions, or applicable laws.

Advertisers must be at least 18 years old to use the Services.

2. Review & Approval Process

2.1 Discount Billboard Pre-Approval

  • Ads are reviewed for compliance with this Policy, professional standards, and legal requirements.

  • Reviews are typically completed within 3–5 business days.

  • Ads unlikely to be accepted by Media Owners may be rejected at this stage.

2.2 Media Owner Approval

  • Media Owners have final approval authority and may impose additional restrictions based on location, venue type, or local laws.

  • Media Owner review may take up to 7 business days.

  • Some categories (e.g., political, gambling, alcohol) may require additional processes or set-up.

  • Minimum spend requirements may apply; Ads may be rejected if the campaign budget is insufficient.

  • Media Owner decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

2.3 Approval Criteria

An Ad may be rejected if it:

  • Contains prohibited or restricted content under this Policy;

  • Does not match advertiser identity or account details;

  • Fails to meet design standards (e.g., unclear, cluttered, unreadable);

  • Lacks a clear message or legitimate business purpose;

  • Creates safety, legal, or reputational risks;

  • Is not in the local language without translation;

  • Conflicts with competing venue/landlord interests;

  • Violates location-specific or legal restrictions.

3. Advertiser Identity

Advertisers must provide accurate identity and brand details.

The brand name or logo displayed in the Ad must match the name on booking and payment records.

Direct contact with Media Owners regarding approvals is not permitted.

4. Ad Design Standards

To maintain clarity, professionalism, and effectiveness, Ads must comply with the following standards:

4.1 Readability & Visibility

  • Text must be large, clear, and high contrast.

  • Layout must be consistent and professional.

4.2 Image & Graphic Quality

  • No blurry, distorted, or pixelated graphics.

  • Logos must be correctly formatted.

  • Full design required; no blank filler spaces.

4.3 Call-to-Action (CTA)

  • Ads must include a functional CTA (e.g., website, phone number, or address).

  • Contact details must be legitimate and active.

4.4 Layout & Integrity

  • Key elements must be prominent and uncluttered.

  • Artwork must utilize at least 70% of the ad space.

  • No cropped text, unfinished edges, or unprofessional meme/emoji usage.

4.5 Branding & Identity

  • The advertiser’s brand must be clearly displayed.

  • Brand identity must align with advertiser account details.

  • Excessive use of warning colors (e.g., yellow, red) is prohibited where it may mimic safety signage.

5. Prohibited Content

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Illegal, unsafe, or misleading products or services.

  • Adult content, sexually explicit services, pornography, or escort services.

  • Alcohol, tobacco, vaping, cannabis, or gambling content without required authorizations.

  • Misleading health, financial, or promotional claims without substantiation.

  • Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or modification accessories.

  • Discriminatory, hateful, or offensive content.

  • Deceptive political or election content.

  • Copyright, trademark, or other third-party IP violations.

  • Shocking, violent, or unsafe imagery.

  • Content designed to mimic emergency or government communications.

6. Restricted Content

Certain categories may be permitted only with additional approvals or under restricted conditions. Examples include:

  • Food & Beverage: Restrictions on unhealthy foods, especially near schools/medical venues.

  • Alcohol: Must not target minors, depict under-25s drinking, or be within 150m of a school.

  • Gambling: Must not target minors or associate with alcohol/financial hardship.

  • Political Ads: Must comply with FEC or local election rules, including “paid for by” disclaimers.

  • Cryptocurrency & NFTs: Subject to regional financial regulations (e.g., SEC, CFTC in the U.S.).

  • Entertainment Content: Must not depict drug use, adult content, or extreme violence if targeting minors.

  • Venue/Regional Restrictions: Media Owners and landlords may impose additional rules.

7. General Compliance & Enforcement

Advertisers are responsible for ensuring all Ads comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Discount Billboard and Media Owners may disclose Ads or advertiser details to authorities if legally required.

Discount Billboard may impose limits on the number of approved artworks per campaign, based on budget, size, or Media Owner requirements.

Discount Billboard may, at its sole discretion, reject Ads that:

  • Violate this Policy;

  • Harm relationships with Media Owners or landlords;

  • Conflict with Discount Billboard’s business interests or values.
